The Chaser (they're the nice people who brought Osama to APEC) looks back on the year that was ... um ... the year that was 2007. Like no other before it, 2007 will go down in history as the year that preceded 2008. It was a watershed year in which the future of a nation was determined by the fact the then opposition leader's first name rhymed with the date. It was also a year in which the Australian public became interested in politics once again, just as the major parties lost interest in disagreeing with each other about much at all.
