Football gets a papal blessing

The sport of Australia and English Premier League stars Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Tim Cahill has been given a papal blessing as being crucial to teaching young people important lessons in life. Pope Benedict XVI said younger generations could learn a lot about ethics and morality from football, BBC News reported. "I'd like the game of football to be a vehicle for the education of the values of honesty, solidarity and fraternity, especially among younger generations," the pope told a group of Italian footballers, BBC News reported.
