Forget policy, are they still or sparkling?

DURING last year's election campaign, Mark Latham wrote an article arguing the two main Australian political parties had reached the "zenith of policy convergence". Last week Tony Blair reprised the theme, claiming distinctions between left- and right-wing politics had become largely redundant in Europe. So if the traditional right-left divide no longer separates major parties, is there anything left that does?
