As many Canberrans have discovered first-hand over the past few days, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his family have been out and about - doing their Christmas shopping and going to the Christmas service at St John the Baptist Church in Reid, among other things. The reaction of some to such ordinary domestic activity will be, "So what?" But it has been many years since a prime minister and his family spent Christmas in Canberra, indeed lived in the ACT and took enthusiastic part in the life of the city.
